Introduction of the Student Committee Leaders

GP General Leaders

【Maiko】 Leader
I am interested in learning about the "backstage" of education and of language learning, the parts that students do not normally have a chance to see. The Department of British and American Studies is viewed as a place to learn English but I want to change that image. It is a place to learn a wide range of fields "in English". In the GP, I would like to do things that we can't normally do as Eibei students, which is one of the reasons why I wanted to become a leader. Being a leader means I will be forced to experience hardships and to learn how to solve problems effectively. I hope to grow and change through such experiences and help the members around me to do the same.

【Moeko】 Leader
I am currently studying sociology in the Department of British and American Studies and I am especially interested in immigration issues. I also love to watch movies in my free time. I belong to the star gazing club and love gazing at the night sky. I wanted to get to know lots of Eibei students from different grades and so I joined GP. Of course, I also wanted to have more fun opportunities to communicate in English. I became the group leader because I wanted to help everyone have a lot of different experiences and create fun memories. I think that the most important skill that a leader needs is the ability to communicate effectively, so I hope that I will be able to become good friends with the GP members and work together with them to create a wonderful program.

【Shiori】 Sub-Leader
Hi, I am the sub-leader of the committee, Shiori. I major in Communication at the Department of British and American Studies. I love talking to lots of different people, singing, and taking photos. Recently I have been wanting to buy a single-lens reflex camera. I also like to travel. I am really interested in meeting people who have had a wide range of experiences. I joined GP, not only to improve my English, but to meet those types of people and through speaking to such people, learn to communicate well with others. I want to participate and try new things with confidence. My job is to support the two leaders and I will strive to work hard for our committee.

GP Events Leader

【Riho】
My name is Riho and I am a sophomore in the Department of British and American Studies. I became interested in GP because it is a program that allows students to be creative, come up with ideas, and put them into practice, all while speaking in English. Through this experience, it is my hope that I will be able to have my own opinions, discuss them logically and effectively with different people, and learn about other people's ideas. I wanted to be an active member of the group, which is why I chose to be a leader. As a leader, I think it is important to balance having my own ideas with the ability to listen to other people's opinions. Taking into account the different opinions, it is important to plan and organize events well while have lots of fun with each other. Let's all do our best!

GP Media Leaders

【Tian】
Hello, I am the leader of the Media Group, Tian. While I am an economics major in the Department of British and American Studies, I have great interest in languages and study English, Japanese and German. The GP Student Committee was appealing to me as it gives us many opportunities to interact with a wide range of students from our department and provides us with many chances to utilize English. I am very passionate and filled with the desire to do something and so, as leader, I hope to be able to express myself in many ways. A good leader is one who can communicate well with others and so this is my main focus. While the GP Student Committee is supported by our adviser and other faculty members, it is a student centered organization. I think this, more than anything, is the main attraction of our committee.

【Yasu】
Hi, my name is Yasu and I'm the sub-leader of the Media. I got interested in taking part in this program because there will be opportunities to make both Japanese and foreign friends! I will do my best to make/support projects that will make everyone become more internationally minded and to broaden their views on various things!
