"GP Thesis Writing Preparation IV"
The fourth in the series, this lecture focused on providing advice to 4th year students presenting their theses at the Thesis Introduction Presentation Workshop on November 10th. Though the focus was on the 4th year students, the advice given was applicable to business and other presentations so participating students ranged from first to fourth years. The lecture focused on the visual aspects of Powerpoint presentations as well as the importance of content. Ultimately, the students learnt that it is best to "keep it simple and straight" (the KISS principle) and that Powerpoint, while a powerful visual aid tool, is just a tool and that it is a well thought out and organized content and well practiced delivery of the presentation that ultimately decides whether a presentation is successful or not.
