"GP Thesis Writing Preparation Ⅲ"

The third in a series of lectures about thesis writing. This lecture's topic has been one which many students have expressed great interest in-plagiarism. To make this a more interactive lecture, much of the lecture was done in a quiz format. Students were given examples of texts and asked to decide whether there were any acts of plagiarism in the texts and explain why they thought so. After learning about plagiarism, there was a discussion of notation and how best to avoid inadvertently committing plagiarism.

※Our next lecture, GP Thesis Writing Preparation IV will be held on October 13th (Wed) from 13:30 in B11 (Nagoya campus). In order to help students who will be doing thesis presentations on November 10th (Wed), Aya Kawakami will be giving a lecture on how to use Powerpoint effectively in English. While this is primarily geared towards 4th year students, all years should attend as much of the information will aid you in making presentations in your classes and in the business world.

"GP Thesis Writing Preparation Ⅲ"

The third lecture in the series focused on the serious issue of plagiarism, a concept that many students seemed unfamiliar with. The lecture was primary conducted in a quiz style format, allowing much opportunity for the students to actively participate. The students were introduced to the different types of plagiarism then asked to look at some sample writings and answer whether they were free of plagiarism. The interactive nature of the workshop seemed to encourage active participation on the part of the students.
