My summer vacation

2010.09.24

During summer vacation, I visited many places. On July 31 and August 1, I went to Nagano with my family. We stayed at Yudanaka Onsen, which is famous for the monkeys' taking a bath. It was such a nice place, though it is no longer popular. I love onsen, or hot springs in English, and was interested in this aspect of Japanese traditional cultural. So I was so excited and explored everywhere. Then I went to Zigokudani, where monkeys take a bath. Unfortunately, they didn't try to take a bath because it was such a hot day. But, incredibly, I was able to see many monkeys there. They didn't go away even if we came nearby! They were cute. I cannot forget such a odd view. And during obon, which is a Japanese holiday in August where you visit the grave of your ancestors, I went to my grandparents' house in Guzyo. I visit a few times every year, but I have never looked around Guzyo, so I went sightseeing. It is called the city of water, so we can see some beautiful streams of water. There are many souvenir shops, and I bought Sample, which is famous there. After walking around there, I ate ice cream on the bridge. As I said, Guzyou is the city of water, there are many big bridges. By the way, It was the day of Guzyo Odori, which is one of the three biggest Bon dancing festivals in Japan, so there were so many more people than usual. I wanted to join it, but I was extremely tired from walking, so I didn't do that. Next time I want to do that! Anyway, this summer was special to me. I was more active and did what I wanted to. I could feel refreshed. I will to do everything that I want to, and study more seriously and work on GP!!!
