Hi, my name is Momoka and I'm from a regular (if anything, lower class) local high school and never studied abroad. I was so overwhelmed when I found a boy sitting next to me was reading some thick English novel just to kill time on the very first day at this University. As the days passed, it didn't take that long before I found out that more than half of my classmates had been abroad for more than a year. Yup, of course, I thought I didn't belong here. I even thought someone had set me up. Maybe some of you reading are those who have studied abroad but why don't you put yourself in my position, just try to envision your teachers having you debate with returnees over global warming or something every two weeks and you feel like you are never gonna win. I always felt like I was about to throw fits but wow, I gradually began to realize the benefits. Nanzan gives me tons of chances to make friends all over the world as it allows more than 200 students from overseas to come every year. So, as I got chances to hang out with them, I was asked for my opinion in English sometimes. And that was usually more than just a yes or no. Now to be able to organize my thoughts quickly and show what kind of position I have clearly is a must. The diabolic debating practice was nasty but it was totally good practice for me. There are many other things that I appreciate about being at Nanzan but it’s getting long so I shall endeavor to keep this short. If you are still reading, here is what I have been doing in GP. I belong in the Media group and so I am creating designs for posters and logos, editing videos, writing reports about events or our progress, etc. We are kind of still seeking what to do as the GP Media group. That means we need your help! YOU ARE SO WELCOME!
