I have a lot of really good memories of this month!!! It is because I made friends with students from Dickinson College in America and had lots of chances to interact with them and learn about their different cultures. During this month, we had a lots of activities to show them Nagoya and teach them about Japanese culture. For example, I took them to go to the Atsuta Festival, Nagoya castle, Osu (a unique shopping area in Nagoya), a maid cafe, Sakae (the main shopping area of Nagoya), and around Nagoya Station. I took the students to go and sing at karaoke, eat Misokatsu (fried pork cutlet in a sweet miso sauce), and to make and eat Okonomiyaki (a savory pancake full of meat and vegetables). I felt very excited for all these opportunities and feel like I have a broader world perspective. I also noticed the importance of learning about my own country, Japan, because I could not explain about Japanese culture very much. In the end, I felt that I want to treasure once-in-lifetime experiences like this!! Of course, I will be friends with them forever...
