The Arimatsu Shibori Festival

We went to the Arimatsu-Shibori Festival which was held in the Midori Ward of Nagoya city. It was hot! We enjoyed walking through the old townscape and going shopping. There were many shops for yukata or handmade goods and we saw the Parade of the Generals. Some of the Dickinson students bought secondhand yukatas (a type of summer kimono) and ate shaved ice. To my surprise, Dickinson students found a shop which sells uniforms and gym clothes and they looked really interested in what  Japanese students wear to school saying  "This sailor uniform is very cute!!"  I hope they discovered some Japanese traditions from this simple and nice town!
