Dr. Takeda workshop's began with a brief lecture on the importance of active listening and went on to discuss some basic principle of active listening. Afterwards, the students were asked to listen to a short anecdote told by professors of our department and then summarize in as much detail what the professors had said. Finally, they were asked to translate the story into Japanese. Dr. Takeda taught us the basic methodology needed to retain as much information as possible and to focus on the key points of each story.
