The three groups spoke on "what we have learned"- their cross-cultural discoveries during the week. For many of the University of Hawaii students, this was their first experience abroad. Seeing Japan and Nagoya through the University of Hawaii students' eyes allowed us to see cultural differences that were surprising to us all. More than the differences, however, we learned what was the same and those points of commonality created a bond that will surely develop into deep and long lasting friendships between the students, the schools, and hopefully our nations.
