The Scott Bates workshop was not the more lecture oriented style of previous workshops, but instead a round table discussion where students of our department presented their thoughts on different aspects of American culture and posed questions to Mr. Bates. The topics ranged from the fundamentals of the American way of life to racial issues and was very successful in achieving the goal of having workshops be more student centered. Many students commented on their excitement over being able to discuss American politics with someone who has worked so extensively in American government. GP Media Group leader, Tian, was also given the opportunity to introduce the GP program during this workshop.
