This first lecture was designed as a general overview of the entire series. The talk touched on the basic structure of a thesis, introduced the concept of formal writing, plagiarism, and included some general advice on researching and organizing a thesis paper. GP Project Director Aya Kawakami stressed the importance of setting small, achievable goals and maintaining a strict time schedule as one of the keys to writing a successful thesis paper.
