The freshman Eibei students who participated in the program spoke of their home stay experiences while in Hilo. They talked about the bonds that they created with their University of Hawaii at Hilo partners and how classes at UHH helped spark their interest in further learning on a wide range of topics. The senior Eibei student presented on her experiences at the Hawaii Community College, where they worked in the Mala (a traditional Hawaiian garden). She spoke on the need to respect and give back to nature and what she learned from the teacher about how to do so. Finally, the students from the University of Hawaii at Hilo spoke of their experiences in Japan and what was wonderful and surprising about their time at Nanzan.
