Recently I have been focusing my research on the application of digital technology to the teaching and learning of second language. Recent projects have included one involved with surveying several hundred university students and instructors across Japan to find out what kinds of technology they use, feel comfortable with, and find useful for language learning, another that explored these themes more qualitatively with instructor interviews, one which consisted of interviews with a group of high-achieving students to investigate what technology they use in language learning, and I am currently investigating how educational technology is incorporated into language teacher training advanced degree programs.
