この分野を選んだ理由

Reasons for choosing this field
Initially, I did not intend to be a teacher, but after volunteering to teach refugees while doing my undergraduate degree, I realized how enjoyable teaching is. Through teaching English, I have also learned that English is more than just a language. It is a tool to shape conversations, messages, and give voice to those who want to change the world. Learning how people do this has become the focus of my research, looking at public speaking, speeches and the rhetoric used by great speakers around the world. Ultimately, all of my research into these areas then feeds back into my teaching.

Passport

With my passport, I can travel anywhere in the world and meet anyone I need to, in order to conduct my research. It is the key to unlocking all the doors in the world.

趣味

I have many interests and hobbies, but the one I enjoy the most is traveling to different countries around the world. I tend to take many pictures when I am overseas and enjoy tasting the different kinds of coffee each country has to offer. While traveling, I always buy a refrigerator magnet from each country that I visit. It is a simple way to remind myself of the great places I have been fortunate enough to visit.

好きな食べ物

My favorite food is lasagna, with garlic bread and Caesar salad.

座右の銘

“Make the most of your life”

小さい頃の夢

When I was younger, I always thought it would be great to be involved in the music industry. I have always loved music and getting to travel the world as a musician seemed like a great idea. Unfortunately, I have little in the way of musical talent, so my dream never went anywhere, and life took me down a different exciting path.

行ってみたい国・場所

I would like to visit all the countries in the world, but if I had to pick just one, I’d love to visit Egypt to see the Pyramids of Giza and cruise on the Nile.
